| The Bach Flower Remedy Story |
Dr Edward Bach, was born in 1886, and qualified as a doctor in
1912, In 1930 disillusioned with conventional medicine, he retired
from his practice in London and spent the reminder of his life
in a cottage in Mount Vernon in Oxfordshire, England. There he
completed his research and developed the 38 Bach Flower Remedies,
which are used world wide in herbal preparations. He died a year
later, in 1936.
Dr Edward Bach’s holistic approach to health, disease and
healing is based on the concept of the perfect Unity of all things,
Each of us as an individual, is on a unique journey and our state
of health serves, if you like, as an indicator of at what point
we have reached on this journey.
In 1934, Dr Bach wrote:
“There is not true healing unless there is a
change in outlook,
peace of mind, and inner happiness”.
‘Bach Flower Remedies’ restores harmony and awareness
to the individual’. They act as a catalyst between Soul
and personality. They work specifically not on the physical condition
but on the emotional condition of the individual , by clearing
the sufferer’s worry, apprehension, lack of self–
confidence, hopelessness, irritability, uncertainty, fears or
whatever other, bringing peace and a stable mind by allowing the
person to see things in a positive way thus allowing the Higher
Self to come to the surface.
In simple terms, the Bach Flower essence, act as divine energy
washing over the negative state of the personality thus resulting
in a positive state of mind.
“Disease is solely and purely corrective;
it is neither vindictive nor cruel. But it is the means adopted
by our own soul to point out to us our faults, to prevent us from
doing more harm, and to bring us back to the path of Truth and
Light from which we should never have strayed. “
Dr Edward Bach.
The remedies are also used just as effectively to help animals.
A case history tells us how Dr Bach himself gave ‘Rescue
Remedy’ to a dying pony, which quickly made a full recovery.
Bach Flower Remedies are also been used on plants to combact
disease. For example, by spraying the flower remedy of ‘Crab
Apple’ (a cleansing remedy) and ‘Rescue Remedy’
on a rose bush with black spot, it rids the rose from the disease.
Also, by watering a transplanted plant with ‘Rescue Remedy”
it helps the plant to recover from shock and to establish well
in its new place.
The Bach Flower Remedies are also used effectively in skin care
products to promote healing for the body in many forms. I personally,
as a practitioner, enjoy using Dr Bach’s Flower Remedies
wherever I can, this is why I have formulated a Shampoo and Conditioner
with the addition of the flower remedy of Crab Apple, found to
be most effective as a cleanser.
