History
The name Chamomile comes from the Greek words kamai and melon meaning 'ground apple', due to the apple-like aroma of Anthemis nobilis. Roman Chamomile has been used in Europe for centuries as a medicinal plant. This oil was very popular amongst the Ancient Egyptians and was used for its febrifuge properties and for the treatment of rheumatism and over strained muscles. The Egyptians dedicated it to their Sun God, Ra. Roman Chamomile herb was used as a fumigant especially in Tudor times in England.
