| Blending your essential
oils |
|
|
This is not as hard as it seems! Personal preference is often
what is needed to blend oils. We use an easy three-step system
for blending.
1. Determine the desired effect you want to achieve such as relaxation,
uplifting etc…
2. Using the Essential
Oils Table choose 2-3 oils with the properties that provide
the effect you desire.
3. Blend your oils in the ratio that gives you the aroma you
like and use either in your vaporiser, bath or base oil for a
body rub or massage.
An example:
You want to make a blend of oil for study. Try the following oils
to make the blend. Refer to Essential
Oils Table for the properties that help when studying. You
can see that Rosemary can be used as a memory enhancer, Basil
for focus and Lime for focus and refreshment. Adjust the level
of each oil or the number of drops according to your preference
for aroma. If you like it to be more citrus then add more Lemon,
if you like it to be more herbaceous then add more Basil and Rosemary.
It’s that easy!!
Make your blends to a total of 8 drops at a time for use in your
vaporiser etc…
It’s a good idea for you to play with mixing oils to make
your own blends, that way you will have some experience with blending.
